Our Product: We render our services in ‘Inspection of Overhead Lines for Corona, Tracking, and Arcing Detection’.
These inspections are of ‘Overhead Lines’ outside of company, switch yards etc. Include only High Tension Transmission Towers.
The survey of Overhead High Voltage Lines & Transmission Towers requires moving along with the transmission lines and inspection of transmission towers.
For transmission towers the distance from insulators to Ultrasound Inspector is often in excess of 200 feet. In this instance the parabolic dish is used. The parabolic dish amplifies the range of detection while maintaining directional characteristics.
We have parabolic dish that test the object 90 meters away from Ultrasound Inspector.
Procedure:
  1. After awarding tender for ‘Inspection of transmission lines’ to us,
  2. You have to schedule the inspection as per your suitability.
  3. Our expert team will visit to you and will draw the inspection path (Start of inspection & last transmission tower to be inspected).
  4. Our expert team will arrange for transportation/ tents etc and carry out the inspection of overhead lines/ transmission lines.
  5. The points of tracking / corona / arcing will be identified and noted down.
  6. Our expert will then photograph the part of fault area and the exact position of fault be marked on the photograph.
  7. The photographs will be submitted along with report to show the exact position of faults.
Preface:
80% of the electrical faults are not due to ageing factor but due to Insulation Failure, Water Ingress, Cracked Insulator, or poor installations. Only 20% of the faults are due to ageing, new installations, or due ignorance.
There are two types of partial discharge might occur in transmission lines, CORONA and TRACKING. The other two serious faults occur in transmission lines are ARCING or PARTIAL ARCING.
Corona discharge results when air molecules around conductors become electrically charged or "ionized." Loss of energy in alternating current high voltage transmission lines is one concern, and the deterioration and eventual failure of insulators is another.
Corona onset is a function of Voltage, Relative humidity and Relative air density.

Tracking is another form of partial discharge. It is flow of electricity over ageing surface of insulating material. It creates permanent paths over the surface of insulators and degrades insulating materials.
Arcing and Partial Arcing is flow of electricity through air from one conductor to another object conducts electricity. It is extreme violent fault, generates extreme temperature may cause fire & explosions. It is rapid expansion of gas causes fires & explosions & thereby rapid destruction of all connected equipment.
